Workshop participants share their feedback:

Administrator feedback

“Jenn was incredibly responsive to the needs of our site.  She collaborated with our admin and Trauma-Informed Leadership Team (TILT) to create training and workshops tailored to our specific needs and where we wanted to go with trauma-informed approaches. She provided many tools and resources that could be easily implemented in our classrooms and incorporated into daily routines.”

Longtime Teacher feedback

“You would think that after 31 years of teaching that I have all the ideas I could need and perhaps, not open to new ones. It is often the case that we go to an after-school PD that feels like a huge waste of time. The Trauma/ACES PD was like replacing a dim bulb with a bright one for me. I was flooded with ideas on how I could still teach the standards but also work trauma informed care into my lessons. Thank you so much for making sure us old dogs still get to learn new tricks.”

Any additional comments…

“Thank you for acknowledging our stress! It made me feel seen.”

“I think this was very helpful. I understand trauma a lot more. Coaching and 1:1 will be extremely helpful to help change teachers’ perception.”

“This was a great presentation. I’m excited to start using what I learned today.”

“Thank you! Very helpful though conceptual, still practical.”

The most significant learning(s) for me….

“The impact trauma has on student behavior/education and how adults/teachers can be affected by their own & student trauma AND how relationships heal.”

“Learning how trauma affects the brain and how to show all my students that I ‘see’ them and to build relationships.”

“Trauma can be healed.”

“Building relationships is crucial with working with students.”

“The most significant part was learning that having positive relationships with students can help them heal.”

“Tons! More insight on how trauma could be the instigator for behaviors and how to handle that better.”

“To stop, consider, be aware and think of new ways to reframe difficult interactions.”

“I need to provide secure and stable relationships and create positive connections with my students.”
